2024 National Summit Transition FAQs

Please visit this page often, as we will continue to update this page based on feedback and questions we receive from National Summit registrants and our members.

Why has the in-person format of the 2024 National Summit changed?

There is an unexpected, active labor dispute at our contracted venue in Baltimore, MD. As an organization dedicated to advancing health equity, we cannot in good conscience hold a conference at a venue where workers are fighting for a living wage. We believe this is the correct decision to maintain the integrity of TRCC’s mission.

How will we get to experience the panel presentations and breakout sessions planned for the National Summit?

Over the next several months, we will host a speaker series we’re calling “Voices of Health Equity.” We are working with the speakers whose presentations were accepted for this year’s summit and scheduling sessions to be held at convenient times this fall and into next year.

How will you handle my registration for the 2024 National Summit?

All attendees who registered for the in-person conference will have their registrations transferred to our 10th annual National Summit to be held in Washington, DC on November 8-11, 2025. We hope you will join us. If you prefer a refund, please email events@rootcausecoalition.org by September 30, 2024 and a refund will be processed to your original form of payment.

What is the cost to participate in the Voices of Health Equity speaker series?

We are pleased to offer this educational content at no charge. Stay tuned to upcoming announcements of how to register for the sessions.

What platform will the Voices of Health Equity speaker series be held on?

All sessions will be held via Zoom. We will aim to record these sessions and make their content available for TRCC members to view on-demand.

I booked a hotel room within the block at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor. What happens to my room reservation?

We have asked hotel management to cancel rooms associated with the TRCC hotel block. Your room will be automatically canceled and refunded to your original form of payment.

I already booked my flight to Baltimore, MD to attend the summit. What should I do?

Many airlines offer e-credits on non-refundable flights and you often have up to a year to use those credits on a different flight. We recommend you contact your airline to learn what your options are for a refund or getting an e-credit for a future flight.
